Do we need Facebook?

Just wondered about people's thoughts on the club having a Facebook page, may be useful for club news, photos etc.
Never used it but a wife and son that do, I will soon learn.
Would it be useful?

A lot of clubs are now using Facebook.
It will take over from the club website though.
So, what I think will happen is the club web will be for checking out race times, championship, etc.
Facebook will be for the up to date and immediate issues.
Fun stuff as well.
I like using Facebook but mr bonner won't. He's not on it.
It will been seen by a lot more racers I think.

I agree - a facebook group would definitely mean more exposure to new racers than the webpage and would probably eventually replace this forum as a way of discussing the high brow racing issues we discuss on here (sorry, had wine with dinner!).
I think it would be easier to share photos etc too.
I was reluctant to join facebook too but I think the likes if Mr Boner should take the plunge as a Capel facebook group would be fun

I agree I think the club having a facebook page is the way to go there is about 30ish racers but only 5 or 6 posting on the forum.

If facebook is easier to use for posting photos and club news and keeping everyone up to date then its got to be the way to go.

Looks like I've got to join facebook but I'm sure I can put it off for another 6 months I've managed to for the last 3 years.

I have managed to get 3 separate people to find it but it is very hit and miss, looking at the settings to see if something wrong.

I can't find it either. Is it a facebook group, like Barham, or have you created an account called "Capel rc car club"

It's a group like Barham, not an uncommon issue apparently, been online for a solution or to see what I am doing wrong, no answer so far, lots of this type of problem though.
My wife and son both could not find it at first but both could after a few try's yesterday, my brother in law has found it and we were not facebook friends so it seems to be working, of sorts.
Very frustrating.

OK. To make it easier for us to find could you go to the Capel group on facebook, copy the URL and paste it into a message on here?

For example the URL for Barham's group is
